Court and Regulatory Appearance Reimbursement

Accredited repair shop representatives may sometimes be required to attend internal Manitoba Public Insurance claim dispute resolution processes, including civil, criminal, or other court or administrative proceedings, in order to provide testimony related to their estimates or services.

When required, Manitoba Public Insurance will reimburse the representative’s repair shop at a rate of $37.50 per hour. The reimbursement applies to appearances and calls, and does not apply to any prep work or background actions required or performed by the shop’s representative. It is the shop’s responsibility to compensate their representatives for these services.

Manitoba Public Insurance will also allow up to $0.35 per kilometer for travel if the appearance request is for a location outside of the representative's normal work location (city/town).

Where an accredited repair shop's representative is subpoenaed, they are provided conduct money: a Court Tariff of $36.25 per half day, and $72.50 per full day. Manitoba Public Insurance will deduct the conduct money when determining reimbursement for the accredited repair shop representative's court or regulatory appearance.
