Description:

  • Understand the squeeze-type resistance spot welding process
  • Describe STRSW power sources
  • Identify the types of arm sets and electrode tips and understand the importance of dressing electrode tips
  • Identify the machine settings for resistance spot welding
  • Understand flange preparation and fit-up
  • Visually inspect and destructively test spot welds
  • Describe the weld bonding process
  • Understand how to choose the appropriate STRSW machine for your needs

  • Working with rivets in the collision repair process
  • Simulate aluminum repair decisions through small group activities and props

  • Explain the role of steering systems as well as front and rear suspension
  • Understand general concepts for steering and suspension systems
  • Identify damaged steering and suspension parts
  • Determine damaged parts that cause steering and wheel tracking problems
  • Analyze caster, camber, toe, and other alignment angles
  • Understand ride heights difference, additional inspection methods, and how to use alignment angle readings to ensure complete and accurate damage analysis
  • Locate and identify damaged steering and suspension parts prior to wheel alignment inspection
